What is Dance Marathon?

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a movement benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for more than 170 pediatric hospitals across North America. We are the only children’s charity committed to having 100% of the funds raised stay local to support local kids. Since inception, Miracle Network Dance Marathon has raised more than $300 million for kids across North America — ensuring that no child or family fights pediatric illness or injury alone.

Want to get involved with Mason Miracle? Choose how involved you want to be!

1. Participant: Attends Mason Miracle events, participates in the Dance Marathon events and supports the cause throughout our journey
2. Committee Member: Works in a group to directly support a Mason Miracle Executive Board Chair Member. (i.e. Recruitment Chair would have a Recruitment Committee to help execute goals and plans)
3. RSO Team Captain: Serves as the overall team leader and liaison between RSO fundraising team and Mason Miracle. Communicates any news or upcoming opportunities and is the motivator for year-round engagement and fundraising efforts.

• What is Miracle Network Dance Marathon?

• • Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a movement powered by over 300,000 college students on 300 campuses across North America. These students work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds one dollar at a time by making the ask to family and friends. Their hard work culminates in a 6-40 hour celebration on their campus, where participants have the opportunity to rally together as a community for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved in Dance Marathon gain valuable skills in fundraising, peer management, delegation and philanthropy. Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs have collectively raised more than $200 million since 1991.

• How are funds raised for Children’s National Hospital?

• • We fundraise in a variety of ways. We aim to mainly utilize peer-to-peer fundraising, essentially using everybody’s social network to get personal donations from friends, family, and community entities. We also hold smaller fundraising events, such as dance and exercise classes, throughout the year by charging admission fees.

• Where do the funds go?

• • All funds raised through Miracle Network Dance Marathon are donated directly to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to help local kids. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. • How can I get involved with Mason Miracle?

• • We’re always welcoming more people to join the cause! You can simply fill out this short form: cglink.me/s32306
  • You can decide how involved you wanted to be. There are 3 types of involvement — participant, committee member, and RSO (Registered Student Organization) Team Captain. Participants attend our events and help spread the word of our organization and our cause. Committee members work in groups to directly support a Mason Miracle executive board chair member (e.g. Members in the Recruitment Committee will be working with the Recruitment Chair on the executive board. Lastly, RSO Team Captain serves as a team leader and liaison between your RSO’s fundraising team and Mason Miracle.
