Mason Day FAQs

General Rules
  • Mason Day is in Lot L behind the Patriot Center
  • Entry to Mason Day is free for anyone with a valid Mason ID, as well as children under the age of 10
  • Entry is $15 for anyone without Mason ID
  • All Mason Students, Faculty, and Staff will receive 2 food tickets upon entering
  • Food tickets will be available for purchase inside using Cash or Mason Money, we do not accept credit cards. Each food ticket is the equivalent to $1.00 and are NOT refundable.
  • Rain or Shine
  • Attendees hand will be stamped upon entry & must stay stamped the entire day, do not wash off
  • Line Up / Set times subject to change
  • Everyone subject to search upon entry
  • The festival is for all ages.

  • NO Knives / Weapons Etc.
  • NO Chains / Chain Wallets
  • NO Fireworks / Explosives
  • NO Tents
  • NO Tailgating in Parking Lots
  • NO Refunds/Exchanges/Cancellations
  • NO Chairs
  • NO Alcohol
  • NO Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia

GENERAL QUESTIONS

  1. Can I walk to the festival? Yes from anywhere on campus
  2. I’m a photographer. Who do I arrange a photo pass through? You do not need a photo pass to take pictures throughout Mason Day.  However, anyone looking to take pictures during the main entertainment, must request beforehand. All requests must be submitted to the Assistant Director of Student Involvement Michelle Bennett no later than April 15th at mdavih@gmu.edu.
  3. Are you hiring volunteers at the event? Yes, if you would like to volunteer at Mason Day? CLICK HERE
  4. Can I pass out flyers inside? Outside? No this is strictly forbidden unless you have prior approval from the Assistant Director of Student Involvement Michelle Bennett all requests should be made no later than April 15th at mdavih@gmu.edu.

  7. Will there be vegetarian/vegan food offered? Gluten Free? We do attempt to have food that anyone can eat but it is not a guarantee.  You are able to leave Mason Day to get food and come back if you can’t find something that meets your dietary restrictions.
  8. Will there be flushable toilets and sinks available? No, we only have port-a-potties at the venue but you can leave and come back, it is a short walk to the academic buildings on campus.
  9. Will I be able to find security if needed? Yes, we have CSC security and Mason Police Officers on hand
  10. Will there be ATMs? No but there are some available on campus – check out www.gmu.edu for their locations and come with cash on hand.
  11. Will there be a Lost & Found? (Lost keys, cell phones, etc.) Yes at the main info booth
  12. Will there be First Aid on site? Yes, we will have a roving medic and first aid kits at the main info booth
  13. Will there be water? And/or how much is water? We will have water available onsite for you to fill your empty bottles.
  14. Will there be cell phone charging in the venue? No
  15. What’s the closest parking for attendees? Closet Parking to Mason Day is in Lot A or Lot K
  16. Where is the nearest bus stop? Near the Shenandoah Parking Deck for a campus map CLICK HERE
  17. Where is the nearest metro stop? Take the Orange Line Train to Vienna then take the CUE Bus (any of the routes stop at Mason). The CUE Bus is free with a valid Mason ID OR $1.80 per person otherwise.
